The Boogie Man Nebula
http://jeffjastro.com
Hi all :) Here is a close look at "The Boogie Man" Nebula - LDN 1622 I used the big (TOA-130F) scope for this one, and was the first object that night. I imaged it when the EM200 mount was quite a ways past the meridian, which is impressive. Focus was not perfect as this started just as a test. The RGB from that night was not usable, so I used the RGB from the widefield / smaller scope from one year ago nearly to the day of this image.
TOA-130F (FS-60 for RGB), EM200, QSI540wsg
5x20min Ha, 3x10min L (bin1x1); 2x5min ea RGB (bin2x2);
10xdarks/flats/fdarks/bias.

Hi all,
Here is the Leo Triplet from data collected this year. Distance to these 3 galaxies: Approx 35 million light years. :)

Hi all, I am a little behind here, but just a quick note that I received 2 free copies of Sky & Telescope, June 2017 issue, as they featured my Barnard 343 image in their Gallery!

3.7hrs of H-alpha - Cone Nebula region
http://jeffjastro.com
Hi all :) This
is just a single channel/filter of data (H-alpha) - so, is monochrome -
but, it is getting close to 4hrs of data in just this channel. I am
still working the Lum (clear) and color (RGB) data, but this is from
data collected over two nights on this object at the end of January:
Cone Nebula and surroundings (mono)
FS-60C, EM200, QSI540wsg, 11x20min (3.7 hrs) H-alpha only
FS-60C, EM200, QSI540wsg, 11x20min (3.7 hrs) H-alpha only
Full image/details here: http://jeffjastro.com/dso/NGC2264_26Jan17.htm
I'll
post again when the color is added, but a few objects such as this one
I like in mono as it brings out different features. :)
